ZOTOV EVGENY VASILYEVICH
Moscow, 1902 – Moscow, 1967
Studied in Moscow at A.P. Khotulev’s studio (1914-1916) and at the Stroganov Art Scholl, V.N. Baksheyev’s workshop (1916-1917).
In 1919-1921 studied at the Higher Art &Tech Workshops (VKhUTEMAS), A.V.Lentulov’s workshop.
In 1936-1942 – at Higher Qualification Courses attached to the Moscow Art Institute (MKhI). Worked as a theatre artist. The author of sceneries to “Perfidy and Love” by F.Shiller (Tiflis Russian Drama Theatre), “Inspector General” by N.V. Gogol (1929, Moscow Workers’ Theatre), “Glory” by V.M. Gusev (1936, Kazan’ Russian Drama Theatre), “Masquerade” by M.Yu. Lermontov (1944, Tashkent Russian Academic Drama Theatre) and to other plays.
In 1966 the artist designed scenery sketches and costumes to “Holy Spring” by Igor Stravinsky (was not staged).
He was the author of a number of projects of industrial constructions for exhibitions (the 1950s).
E.V. Zotov’s works were exhibited in London (1961).
