Novocherkassk, 1883 – Moscow, 1946

 

In 1910 studied at P.I. Kelin’s studio. In 1932 was awarded the title of Honoured Art Worker of the Russian Federation. Worked for various newspapers and magazines.

Founded magazines “Anti-Religious Fellow” and “Anti-Religious Fellow at Work” (“Bezbozhnik” and “Bezbozhnik u Stanka”). One of the founders of soviet political posters. An active participant of “ROST Windows” (window displays of satire posters).

The artist’s works are exhibited in the largest museums of the country.
